Boats are often money down the drain
Has someone close to you suggested buying a boat together? Even though your heart is set on a home in Spain.
We at Habeno have experienced both owning a boat in Sweden and a house in Spain, and we know that the access to sun-drenched beaches and temperatures of twenty degrees year-round is unbeatable.

4 arguments for buying a home in Spain instead of a boat
To avoid wasting your vacation in a cramped boat or freezing in a boat yard on a cold November morning, we want to share four arguments for why buying a home in Spain is the right way forward.
1. Enjoy Spain's captivating culture
The Spanish culture offers a dynamic and varied experience of art, food and nightlife. In addition, Spain strongly focuses on family, history and tradition, making it an excellent country to live in. Of course, you can travel by boat and experience the Spanish culture that way. But allow us to express a note of warning, taking the boat to Spain from home can quickly end in eternal disagreement and divorce already at the height of the English Channel.
2. Keep your feet dry and seasickness away
By buying a home in Spain, you won't wake up in the cramped cabin, seasick and nauseous from another night of strong gale. Instead, let your feet slip into a pair of velvet slippers, wrap yourself in sun bleached robe and go out into the garden to welcome the morning sun. May we suggest you pick a couple of ripe oranges and squeeze them into a homemade juice?
3. Enjoy your garden
A garden is one of the most welcoming and relaxing places there is. In the garden, you can plant flowers and plants to get a lovely, colourful atmosphere or grow vegetables and fruits to enjoy your own healthy produce. It is also an excellent place to organise various events, such as barbecues and family gatherings. Lighting a fire to start a barbecue on a boat is a stupid thing to do. Sowing and growing something on a boat, for example, oranges - is not as stupid as lighting a fire but, spontaneously, even more difficult.
4. A stable investment
You can make great money by renting out your vacation home in Spain during the summer months. You can also get paid for renting out a boat, but a boat rarely gives the same return as a home. In addition to making money on renting, homes usually increase in value over time, unlike most boats. Investing in a boat is also riskier. It can easily happen that the boat runs aground and starts taking in water, and the boat is soon nothing more than a wreck.
