Introducing Anna
Two years ago, Anna changed her cold everyday life for the sun and warmth in Costa del Sol. Now she is leading the Customer Success team at Habeno. Before that, she worked as a conference interpreter and is fluent in English, German, French, Russian and Spanish.
Tell us about the Success team
Our whole business revolves around the success of our clients - their property purchases, so my team and I are responsible for ensuring that every customer journey is smooth. We are the first people to welcome the client on their mortgage journey and we go hand in hand with them during the whole process. Buying a property in a foreign country can be intimidating, so our main goal is to make our clients feel confident and reduce any friction.
What is your role?
My role is to organise customer success operations and take care of both clients and team members. As a communication expert, I also particularly enjoy working as a link between different teams and structuring processes in the company. We are an actual melting pot, with nine nationalities in the team under the same roof, so it's quite a challenging task sometimes!
What is the best about living in Spain?
Honestly, you don't need much to have a good life on this coast, all the best things are free: a fantastic climate, the sea, and pretty white towns. Every activity from sports to a barbecue party takes place outdoors, it's very different from life in any Northern country, and I love it.
Can you share any hidden gems?
I now live close to the town of Benalmadena, or Benalmadena Pueblo in Spanish. It is a charming little village, and I enjoy walking its narrow streets on a summer night. If you are ever in Benalmadena, check out La Cúpula Lounge - a local fusion restaurant, the setting is absolutely magical.
How did you finance your home?
I have a really painful secret. After I started working in mortgages, I never looked at my own mortgage deed. I'm terrified to think what I might find in there! We took out a mortgage on our own, and believe it or not, even speaking Spanish and living in the country, I was in the dark during the whole mortgage process, and I think I didn't understand 90% of what I was signing. I really wish I was better informed and chose to go through a mortgage broker.
